Research Fellow | Krakow University of Economics
Dr inż. Irena Śliwińska, Assistant Professor at the Department of Market Analysis and Marketing Research, Krakow University of Economics. I teach research methodology, market analysis, marketing research, and consumer behaviour analysis.
I am a graduate in Management and Production Engineering with a specialisation in food engineering. I decided to integrate my background in food production engineering with the field of marketing research. In my research, I focused on functional foods with proven beneficial effects on human health. The topic of my doctoral thesis was: “Modelling consumer attitudes towards functional foods”. I received a PhD in management and quality sciences from Krakow University of Economics in June 2022. I have 8 years of experience as a Consultant for EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe).
My research interests include consumer behaviour in the food market, primarily in the context of healthier food choices. I gained experience in neuromarketing research through international collaborations: during an internship at Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra as part of the COMFOCUS project (funding: Research Infrastructures, Horizon 2020) and during a study visit to Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands (funding: The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange).
I specialise in consumer attitudes and behaviours, marketing research, methodology of social sciences, measurement reliability, data analysis (factor analysis, cluster analysis, logistic regression, SEM, content analysis). Currently, I focus on a mixed-methods approach in consumer research. I am exploring the possibilities of combining neuromarketing techniques with declarative measures.
