Dr. Elif Incekara-Hafalir

Dr Elif Incekara-Hafalir is a behavioural economist who uses experimental and field-based methods to understand how people make decisions in areas such as education, employment, and financial wellbeing. Her work focuses on translating behavioural insights into practical, policy-relevant solutions that address inequality, support gender equity, and improve outcomes for underrepresented communities.
She has published in leading journals including Management Science and Experimental Economics, and has extensive experience designing and running field experiments in partnership with public and private sector organisations. Her research has attracted competitive external funding from major international programs, including the U.S. National Institute on Aging (via the Penn–CMU Roybal Center) and the Evidence for Policy Design initiative at Harvard Kennedy School.
