Alek Van Hummel

Aleksandra (Alek) Van Hummel is a RACE for 2030 Industry PhD candidate at the University of Canberra. Her research employs mixed methods, integrating expertise in neuropsychology, psychological measurement, behavioural economics and social marketing. With first-class honours in psychological science from UQ and a postgraduate certificate in behavioural economics from QUT, Alek combines a deep curiosity for human behaviour with a drive to create impactful solutions that better society. Her PhD focuses on understanding and measuring consumer trust and distrust in the energy ecosystem. Alek has conducted research on the adoption of low-carbon technology, social licence, consumer cybersecurity, and the psychological effects of brain injuries.
